First of all, I do not like to have to rate this experience negatively, but here it goes. He came out and did an estimate on 9/13/16, while I was at work. We agreed to the price of $1440.0 to put siding on my 16x80 home. I purchased the materials on 9/18/16. He showed up on 9/19/16 with very little help and unloaded the materials. He worked for about three and a half hours then left after he received his first payment of $480.00. He arrived on 9/20/16 and was here for eight hours. He arrived on 9/21/16 and was here for eight hours as well. I reluctantly paid the second installment of $480.00, and then he left again. I have not seen him since, and it is now 9/25/16. I have paid $960.00 for seven sheets of 4x8 siding and one side of felting. I cannot with good conscience give this "business" anything short of a terrible rating. I will have to find a more reliable contractor to complete this job.
Tuten Woodworks's reply
There are always two sides to every story. If there is a completion dead line, the client should inform the contractor before the job begins. Mr. B. failed to do so. As we had no written agreement, I cut my losses and left the project. He also has failed to inform Thumbtack that it rained the first day, thus preventing any painting. He paid for 16 hours labor, and he received that labor. I am not of a mind to ever leave a job-site, but this gentleman left me no choice.
