- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to know their skin type, what makeup they are currently wearing (including brand names and shade numbers etc), as well as if they have any allergies, sensitivities to ingredients, preferences for application of makeup and more. Also, if they have a Pinterest mood board for makeup looks they like, that always is a plus!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been doing makeup now for over 5 years and I am somewhat self-taught. I worked at a department store for a couple of years at a makeup counter and learned some there as well, but mostly it was through watching Youtube (one of my favourites - Lisa Eldridge) and practising on myself and others.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always loved makeup and have loved doing fun looks on people / myself. As far as green beauty and nontoxic makeup goes, I have always had sensitivities to food and realised that what goes ON you is just as important as what goes in you. Our body's largest organ is our skin and it absorbs and ingests the product we put on it. You wouldn't eat a plate full of synthetic chemicals, right? So, the same idea goes for this!
