A balanced training approach integrates all time-tested and humane methods to build respectful and companionable relationship and a happy and fulfilled dog.
The goal is for the owner to develop skills and means to communicate with the dog, not to rely on the trainer.
We are interested above all in helping you build the best relationship with your dog and show you how to remove the conditions that might lead to anxiety and problem behavior.
We offer exclusive board and training services for one dog at a time.

We took our mini Aussie to RIP’s Dog Training to try and work out his aggression. As it turns out, RIP found out our dog does not have aggression, but stress because we let him be the ‘leader’ instead of us. RIP helped coach us and worked with our Aussie to reverse the roles. It worked beyond our wildest dreams. Our Aussie listens and obeys most of our commands including some new ones RIP taught him. RIP is a vastly knowledgeable and experienced Dog trainer. He is the consummate professional and a great teacher. He uses a balanced approach of rewards and discipline; his firm but adaptable approach gained our dog’s respect and admiration. Our Aussie was up in the car window every time we arrived and couldn’t wait to go greet his trainer. RIP is very accommodating and matches the training to the needs of the dog and owner and he is an expert on both with two dogs of his own. We are so pleased with RIP’s training for us and our dog and we highly recommend him if you need to ‘fix’ any issues with your dog.

I researched a few trainers before hiring Rip to help with our dog's resource guarding issues. From what I could tell before meeting him, he seemed like a no-nonsense guy who didn't charge an arm & and a leg to help with our dog.
After meeting with him, we were equipped with practical advise to manage our dog's issue. Other trainers felt we might need multiple sessions but Rip felt confident that only 1 hour was needed and so far, he seems to be right! Also, he did offer to come back if we needed additional support (great customer service).
It's only been a little over a week but so far, so good. Thanks, Rip!

Thank you thumbtack for finding us Rip. After trying out 2 other dog trainers with very little luck, Rip came along and saved the day. He has a very special bond with dogs and is very positive without any unnecessary force of over use of treats. I would strongly recommend his service to anyone,
He is a super nice guy and very reasonably priced.
Our dog loves him and now we love our dog...

Rip came over and evaluated my dog and where she was at, gave me some great tips and instruction on how to correct any issues that I currently have or any that might develop. I will definitely be using his services again for a check up with my dog in the future to see where shes at!

He did a very good job training my little Maltese. She was a little terror and has mellowed right out.The only reason I withheld a start was because my dog isn't totally potty trained, I'm not sure if it's his fault or hers.He has made himself availble to follow training and he's a lovely man.
