Sara is an excellent tutor and does not overcharge for lessons. She’s extremely punctual and her lessons are very organized. I just began my lessons recently and I’m very pleased with how things are going. I had a very basic knowledge of Spanish from high school so we are still working on the basics of grammar and vocabulary. Working with Sara has given me a chance to verbally work on my Spanish skills and get instant feedback on things I need to improve. Highly recommend working with Sara for learning Spanish!Oct 2, 2019Verified
My goal with Sara was to get to a point where I could be somewhat conversational. She helped me to reach my goal. The tools she introduced to me were very helpful. I feel like have come a long way to establishing a very good Spanish foundation. Due to losing my job I had to shorten my number of lessons. However I plan to resume my lessons very soon and I will request Sara to finish what she started with me. Therefore I strongly recommend Sara. You will be very satisfiedApr 9, 2019Verified
Sara has been incredible! Her teaching style and approach has helped me understand a completely new language faster than I expected I would. I also love that I get to do all of it from the comfort of my own home, PJs and all! Sara is warm, friendly and approachable and I never feel embarrassed if I struggle with pronunciation or forget words she just said a few seconds prior. She makes me feel validated and encourages me, and we usually end up laughing all throughout our lessons. Thank you Sara, I can’t wait to be fluent in Spanish!Dec 31, 2018Verified
I enjoyed my lessons with Sara. She helped me to improve my Spanish, and have more confidence speaking Spanish. She was always prepared for each lesson. She focused each lesson on topics and grammar that were relevant to the areas of Spanish that I wanted to study and improve.Jun 15, 2018Verified
My lessons with Sara have been amazing. She learned what I wanted to focus on with my Spanish refresher, and has created targeted lessons and provided specific materials to help me reach my goals. Her demeanor is warm, engaging and professional. I love how her background in linguistics informs and her work, and that I not only learn Spanish, but learn about a wide range of topics. Additionally, the convenience of meeting virtually makes our sessions accessible wherever I go with an internet connection, a facet of our work that I love. I cannot recommend her highly enough.Sep 30, 2018Verified
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When I start lessons with a new student, we always discuss about their current Spanish level, their learning goals and their prefered learning style and based on that, I create custom-made lessons that will meet the student's needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a bachelors degree in Linguistics & translation as well as an ELE (Spanish as a second language) training given by ELEinternacional in Spain.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Growing up in a multicultural environnement, I was always very curious about different languages and cultures, so I knew from a really young age that I would want to work in a field related to languages. I started out doing interpretation and translation from Spanish to French or English at my church and I really enjoyed it and later I studied Linguistics and Translation which really helped me understand Spanish better. When I moved to the United States, it was clear to me that teaching Spanish was what I had to do, so I started to work as a private tutor and I could´nt ask for a better job, I absolutely love what I do.
