About

My work stands out because of my combination of old film techniques with new digital equipment. I am only 32, but I started out on black and white film and manual cameras, processing everything start to finish by hand. This leads to a deep understanding of the equipment, settings, and the importance of getting it right in the camera. As a result I am faster in the field during changing light conditions and I do not rely on Photoshop to produce great results. I really enjoy the new experiences that come with every shoot. During a wedding you start out with strangers, stay with them through one of the most emotional and exciting periods of their lives, capture it all, and arrive on the other side with new friends. I took a year off and relocated from Dallas to Charlotte, had my first child and am ready to get back in photography full time.

ken did a great job capturing the different pieces of our Grand Opening Event. He was great at following the shot list and also seeking out different photos that would be helpful to have as well. He was also easy to get ahold of and responded to calls and e-mails in a timely fashion. I really enjoyed working with him and the photographs he produced.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish people knew the amount of work that goes in behind the scenes. Everything from preparation of equipment to processing the final images takes time, dedication and attention to detail. For a typical wedding I will start preparing 3-4 hours before, backup all the images before I go to bed and spend 8-10 hours the next day going through all the images and cutting 3,000+ down to a few hundred.
