I've been involved with computers and IT systems for over 30 years. I'm retired military and spent 17 years at Microsoft. I have a very in-depth knowledge of computer and IT systems, as well as other platforms like Apple OSX and iOS, and hardware and peripherals. I stay up to date on the latest technology known problems and have top of the line software and tools to get any job done. I'm professional, friendly and honest. I contacted Bill around noon on a Monday concerning a laptop with a broken display. He was kind enough to meet me after work, and ordered the replacement display the same day. Thursday at noon (two business days later!), Bill had completed the repair, and replaced the display. Overall, repair costs were more than reasonable given the phenomenal speed with which the laptop was repaired, and Bill's willingness to meet with me outside normal business hours in order to account for my cramped schedule. I'll be directing friends and coworkers towards Bill for any future computer repair!

Bill is awesome!!! He makes getting computer repair simple, quick, and convenient. He replaced my laptop screen within 15 minutes. He also worked to clean up my computer which had been hit with some malware. I really appreciate his expertise and friend customer service. The rates are very affordable!

Bill, did a fantastic job with my son's ASUS laptop. It wouldn't boot up, so I took it to two places nearby my house: one said they would ship it out and it would take 4 - 6 wks "possibly". Another place was promising [2 day turnaround] then the next day called and said they couldn't get the part on the motherboard that was causing the issue. Bill, took the laptop, ran a few diagnosis, tried one solution (most inexpensive fix) but it didn't work. Every step of the way, he called or texted to give me updates and options. We need a new motherboard replacement. He gave me a quote - which I agreed. Our laptop is running great!! Thank you Bill. I definitely will call you first for any computer problems we run into.

BlueSky worked on my laptop that had problems powering up. Bill ran through my computer and made some changes and also checked to make sure it was clean of viruses and other unwanted problems. If I ever need computer work done again, BlueSky will be my first call.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of the time I charge a very fair flat rate. As a customer myself I like to know what its going to cost me before I have the service done. Although sometimes I will, and have to, charge an hourly rate. But I really try not to. In a lot of cases I need to find out more information to get a full understanding of the issue(s) or potential issue(s) before I can give a fair and accurate quote, because Thumbtack makes me enter a number :-) so I'll explain the quote I entered may not be accurate based on further investigation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I have my CompTIA, MCSE, MCSA, and other certifications. I live and breath this stuff. I'm a technology geek.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In the military. Then I worked at Microsoft for 16+ years after I left the military. Been doing it ever since. LUV IT!
