FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally, I try to quote projects at approximately $50/hour, smaller jobs a little higher, larger jobs a little lower. That puts me about in the middle of the pack of most painting quotes. But my skills and professionalism are so much better than the other painters, it makes me the best 'deal' by far!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I need to physically look at the scope of work that is needed and see exactly what the customer is wanting the end product to be. From that I can determine the type of primer and/or paint needed, any special preparatory work, any other materials needed (caulk, drywall compound, wood-filler, etc.), the time it will take to complete the project, and the final quote. I like to begin my work day on-site at either 8am or 9am, whichever is most convenient for my customer and I'll end the day typically around 4pm, working Monday-Friday. I usually do not take a lunch break unless the job lends itself to the necessity of a stopping point or drying time around mid-day. I do not smoke or drink (never have).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
MBA from the University of South Carolina. Was a painter's apprentice for 1 year prior to starting my business.
