Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: The small things you do for your customer; thorough clean-up, feedback from customer during installation, completing job on time, help with HOA approvals, and going the "extra mile" to ensure our customers are completely satified. Every project/job is different and creating a very positive rapport with customers is most gratifying. Every job should be our best work! I truly enjoy reading the positive reviews of customers and know I earned their referral and recommendations to others.

We had Donnie and his team come out to put in a privacy fence around our back yard. Donnie came out and talked with us about what we wanted and everything seemed great to start- then the installation began. We specified that we wanted our fence to be along our property line and I made sure to provide him with a copy of our property survey. The team put the side of our fence a significant distance away from the edge of our property line. When we noticed, my husband talked to Donnie about this but Donnie claimed it was due to a gas line. However, they were building the fence 15 ft from the gas line when code says it only has to be 7 ft away. Because this was cutting into our lawn space significantly we asked him to move the fence back closer to the property line. He then tried to tell my husband there would be a charge for him to move the posts even though the quote we got from him prior to them starting the work was for a fence ALONG THE PROPERTY LINE. He ended up moving the posts but left holes in our yard. The completed fence does look nice but now our backyard neighbors are putting a fence in and also had a land survey completed. Unknown to us, Donnie cut 5 feet off of the back side of our backyard. Essentially now we have a 5ft by 100ft strip of unusable land in the other side of our fence. When we called to discuss this issue Donnie refused to do anything about it. My husband submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau and we have yet to hear back from DC Fence and Rail. We are extremely disappointed that our fence was incorrectly installed and him and his team refuse to correct their mistake. If you choose to hire them be sure to monitor their work so that your finish product is what you originally asked for.

Kelli, it is a shame that this review does not reflect on the quality and superior workmanship of my installers, as well as, a great looking shadowbox fence, though you did say it was nice. As to the moving of the left side of your fence, due to a gas line, I might add, a MAJOR gas line that supplies a number of homes, in your cul-de-sac, the public utility mandates where a fence can be constructed. Being a major gas line, the usual setback is 10 to 15 foot. My crew built your fence where you and your husband agreed to where you wanted the fence built. As to your property lines, when I initially measured your back yard, there were property stakes at the back corners. Now, unfortunately, my company is being blamed for information recently received from your neighbor! I am very sympathetic to your findings, if it is correct, but I built your fence where I was told to. Being involved in this business for many years, it is the complete intention to always cover one's property. As to the Better Business Bureau, I have until May 25, 2015 to reply! We just completed the same fence as yours, in the same subdivision, today, for another customer and they are very pleased and satisfied! My point is that I built their fence where they asked me to, and they also have property behind the fence! Though there is no fault on our part, concerning your property line, I would be open to discussing a solution to the problem. I am very reasonable and fair, and have over 70+ Thumbtack customers to attest to that! Kindest Regards, Donnie Cooper
