The job is overwhelming for me to undertake myself. Thanks to Stella's patience and understanding my reluctance to let anything go, my life has become less congested and esthetically more beautiful thanks to her hard work.

I hired Stella on two different occasions and was quite satisfied with her work.
The first time she helped me in "fixing" my small one person office where I primarily monitored print publications for an environmental category of news. Newspaper. magazines and newsletters throughout the space which had one chair, on casters, one desk, one light table, two small work tables, a four drawer file cabinet and several shelving units. Half filled cardboard boxes on the floor. Plus a four by eight bulletin board. After answering some of her questions in morning I let her work alone and then joined her a few hours later when we then worked together for remainder of day. New categories, labels, placement of materials. Mission accomplished.
The second time she helped me organize contents of my station wagon. I work as a painter/carpenter traveling to distant job sites where I would overnight. Thus my car carried clothes, food and amenities in addition to the essential work tools. This just took 2 hours. Plus utilizing various new "containers" to store stuff in. Car is always full but organized! peter m.

Nitty Gritty has done a five star job of setting up my new home. Plus, also sorting and either consigning or recycling items during downsizing. Highly recommend!

I was fortunate to me Stella in 2008 after moving into a big house with 280 large boxes with contents needing placement. Since then Stella has cared for my 3 handicapped pets, written business letters, assisted with computer problems, prepared served and cleaned up at dinner parties, packed my car (for three month stay) driven me + dogs to NY returning in the fall to drive us home. While in NY Stella rowed my boat to my winter location after cleaning the bottom and secured the Long Island cottage for the season.
At Christmas she decorates my home both inside and out and keeps drawers and closets organized.
Stella is the most amazing young woman ever. I can't imagine my life without her help.

Stella organized my closet and kitchen, putting things in places I would never have though of. She got rid of items I no longer wanted, and since I began working with Stella she's kept me in mind when other clients were getting rid of things she thought I might want. I could not recommend her more highly.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50 hr with a minimum of 3 hrs.
I do charge travel time for distances over 30 miles.
I charge for taking clothes or furniture to consignment and for dropping off donations.
I do not charge for recycling as long as they are in one car load.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am available for a mjnimum of three hours at a time. The reason for that is I have found is that it takes that long to get in and out of most projects.
I get a lot done in a small amount of time but always work at a comfortable pace level for my client. Some of my clients and I work like Energizer bunnies when we know what we want to accomplish. While sometimes we work much more slowly and thoughtfully as we make strategies and try them out.
Once some form of action plan is made, either my client and I will work together, together but on separate tasks, or they may go do something else while I work.
I am very accomadating. My main goal is to make you feel better about your space through problem-solving and putting ideas into action.
I am very patient, I have no attachments to my ideas and just want you to be satisfied with our work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have moved more than 30 times in my life. My father was a business man and my mother loved adventure. She kept everything, bordering on hoarding, and my fatber was a minimalist.
I grew up rifling through vaguely labeled boxes looking for toys and art supplies. At the age of 14, my family and I moved from a big big house and 90 acres to a 32 ' sailboat.
Such a forced life of simplicity taught me a good deal about valuing what you have and only having what you need or really love.
I have volunteered since the age of 16, and have always enjoyed helping, making people feel better and being of service.
I am also an artist and have a strong sense of spacial visualization, talent for creative solutions, and flair for the aesthetic.
