- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The first session is free. The following sessions are $20 per session at my home and $25 when I travel to the students home. The sessions are normally 1 hours in length but may exceed this if the student is experiencing particular difficulty with a concept.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I review with the customer(s) their expectations to ensure that we are all are working towards the same goal. I then review the student's text and assignments to gain specific familiarization with their materials. This occurs during the first session for free. We develop the outline of a tutoring plan including a schedule and location for sessions and a means of assessing progress. We begin the tutoring process and make periodic assessments to ensure that goals are being met or to revise the tutoring plan to ensure we make satisfactory progress towards the customer's goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1979, a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1984, and have passed the Praxis exams for algebra and geometry within the last 10 years.
