FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into photography as a business due to a couple of events in my life. The first was when I was an artillery officer stationed at Ft Lewis, Wa. I was given a camera and I took a photo of Mt Rainier and just loved it. So the bug hit. Then later I met another officer and we started talking about photography. I said wouldn't it be cool to have our own business. My friend then replied well why don't we? So in 1990 we started Carodel Photographers and have been in the photography business ever since.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My highest percentage of jobs consists of family portraits and senior portraits, typically on the beach.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1. Look at the sample images first. If you like them proceed but if you don't there is no need to proceed. 2. Don't let price be the main reason for deciding for or against a photographer. You may get a great price but you usually get what you pay for. 3. Keep colors simple leaning towards the solid colors. You don't want your clothes to be the attention of the portrait. You want the individuals' faces to be the main focus.
