I have been tuning pianos in Florida, before moving to South Carolina, since the mid 1970s. I have tuned for many big names in the music world, including Dave Brubeck, Ramsey Lewis, Chick Corea, and a number of others mainly in the classical world. Tom is a true professional. I don’t tend to disclose my knowledge base, so I can better evaluate the truthfulness of contractors. I was well-aware of the state of my piano when I asked Tom to have a look at it. It began a little more than quarter step flat in general, with wide variation in certain intervals. He gave an evaluation that was exactly in-line with what the piano needed. No over-hyped promises, and no unnecessary work suggested. He got a 100 year old piano in top shape. I had no qualms with having him over quarterly to touch it up. My ear for pitch is above average, and Tom was exacting in balancing the tuning.
