FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1. My baseline teaching fee is $50.00 for one hour lesson per week. Payment for services is expected in advance on the last lesson of the month for the next month. 2. If the teacher needs to reschedule a lesson, it will be rescheduled within the week, if possible. If schedules do not permit rescheduling a lesson, the fee for the missed lesson will be reimbursed. 3. Thirty minute lessons can be taught and are encouraged for younger students. Thirty minute lesson fee is $35.00/1/2 Hr. 4. A 24 hour notice is required if you must miss a lesson. "No shows" will not be refunded or rescheduled. Of course, each situation is different and I do consider the circumstances for each. Let's discuss.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This varies so widely based on the individual student. I always start with basic breathing techniques. Going forward, while staying focused on breathing, we will add vocal production with vocalise and songs as a tool. For piano students I usually use specific proven piano series. For children I have a few children's series and there are also series designed towards the adult that I use. Students are also encouraged to create or bring in repertoire of their choosing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor degree in Music Education/Choral Conducting/Vocal Performance and graduate level in Vocal Performance/Choral Conducting. I continue my personal voice lessons even today.
