Gethsemane House has done extensive renovations on my home which was in very poor condition and turned it into a gem. From A to Z - carpentry, flooring, tile work, appliance and water heater installation, electrical hook-ups, and many other details, they are very professional, skilled, and communicated well with me regarding the specifics I wanted done as well as making creative suggestions and giving ideas for the best possible results.

This guy actually answers the phone when you call. He came out and looked at the job, was there when he said he would be, provided an estimate, performed the repair work expertly, finished a day ahead of time and at the price he quoted. This was a floor repair job in a rental mobile home. Will use him in the future probably many times, he is a rare find these days.

We were quoted an amount for the staining of the deck. When the work was reviewed, we informed Daniel that between the boards were not stained, leaving the work with an unfinished look. Daniel said he did not include staining between boards in his original quote. Therefore, he would complete if we paid an additional $100.00. We paid. This made no professional sense to us. We felt that we had been misled. Would recommend that he be more specific when giving quotes in future.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of my work is at a bid price, but I can work on a time and materials basis if the customer prefers.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by listening to the customer and making sure that I understand the nature and extent of the work required. Then I review the process needed to perform the work and also discuss the likely costs with the client. Establishing good communication early on makes the entire project go much more smoothly, and leaves the customer feeling both satisfied and fully informed at each step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20 years of experience as a tradesman and contractor, and am skilled in virtually every aspect of residential construction. I have attended numerous building schools--including Cornerstones and The Shelter Institute--and was trained as a carpenter and mason in the US Army. I have also been trained and qualified as a Certified Pool Operator (CPO), servicing pools and spas.
