Reasonable work for a reasonable price.This review is overdue. I had Mike and his guys demo and install, basically an entire new bathroom - lots and lots of tile work, building a shower pan, and replacing sub floors. I wanted to wait on the review to make sure that everything met expectations over a period of time, and for the most part I believe it has.Good things:1) Mike was very responsive. I was impressed at his communication and it made working with them much easier. If he or his guys were going to be late, they would call me and let me know.2) Overall I think they did a good job with the install and nothing major sticks out to us after ~ 1 year.3) All of the guys were very friendly.4) They worked hard to get the job done in a reasonable time.5) Mike was great about explaining any issues they ran into and helping us overcome any surprises.Bad things:1) After Mike and his guys finished his part of the work, I had some people come by and finish installation of fixtures (toilet and vanity, etc...). There was construction debris and a small tool (pliers) left in the drain pipe of the toilet. This wasn't caught until after the toilet was installed (the debris was causing a backflow of water upon flush), so I had to have that done twice. Nothing major once the problem was identified, but also this should not have happened.2) There were a couple of surprises in the middle of the work. Admittedly, I know almost nothing about remodeling a bathroom. My wife and I had to run to Lowes on a couple of occasions to pick up items outside of the tile for the bathroom - marble slab for the shower curb immediately comes to mind. There's an argument to be made that this is entirely my fault, but I also feel that Mike should have noticed something like this before it became urgent. Our bathroom is pretty small, so the stack of materials wasn't really that big.3) Looking closely at some of the final tile that was installed (towards the end of the job) I question if that part was rushed and attention to detail wasn't as thorough as it was early in the job.4) I had asked Mike to do a little bit of work outside of what their specialty is. They did there best (which I appreciate), but I subsequently had another guy come in and (re)finish some things.5) I had to have some unrelated work done in the crawlspace later on. There was a lot of residual debris (from sub floors and concrete under the tile) left down there that had to be cleaned up.Overall, I would recommend Flaker Flooring to someone that was looking to get tile/flooring or a bathroom done. Issues we had with them were minor, but I couldn't justify a 5 star review because we did have these issues. The price was reasonable and Mike was easy to work with. We'll be getting our floors redone at some point (hopefully soon) and will definitely consider using Mike again.Oh, he also has great tastes in music.
