Introduction: As a Guest Chef for your group (on premises): Enjoy time with your guests and come home to the wonderful aroma of a freshly cooked meal. Whether in your home with dinner for 2 or a family reunion or bachelorette party for up to 25, everyone loves the attention of having a chef cook for them! We can adapt menus to any kind of cuisine or dietary needs. Each menu is personalized to our clients likes and any dietary restrictions. It can be good old-fashioned chicken and dumplings, shrimp and grits or a more upscale menu such as stuffed salmon or locally sourced steak. I love to cook and I love to take care of people! I've been cooking and baking professionally since I was twelve years old and worked in bakeries and restaurants all over the United States. I would love to be able to cook for your family or group and save you time and money while you enjoy a delicious upscale, home-cooked meal! I am also available to do in-home parties up to 25 people and I offer cooking lessons...either for you personally or a group. I specialize in breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and desserts!!

Michelle was our personal chef for a small Christmas dinner party (10) of my friends. She made the entire evening so special...and easy for me! From start to finish, she was very professional yet personable. There were always quick and comforting responses to my inquiries so as the evening arrived, I had no worries about our plans for what she would serve and how the logistics would work. What was such a nice surprise was how delicious the food was as well as how laid back and proficient she would be during the evening! By the time she had plated the yummy dessert for my guests, I came into the kitchen to see all of the dishes washed and my kitchen was virtually as spotless as when she arrived! Michell exceeded my expectations in all regards!

Details: Brunch / dinner party • 6 - 10 guests • Dinner • Premium (high end ingredients) • American - formal • Meal prepared onsite • Only once • My home, venue, etc. • At the pro’s location

I'll admit I was skeptical at first and am happy to share my experience with Personal Southern Gourmet. We were holding a family reunion for 20+ people and it meant a lot to us since we all had not been together in 16 years. She handled that pressure like a champ! I discussed with Michelle my concerns and she was quick to meet with me, listen to our needs, provide many menu options, and even offered to cook for us to sample her food. She worked with us very well to groom a menu selection that turned out to be a huge hit at the event. In the time leading up to the event, Michelle stayed in touch with me and the management staff at the place where the event was catered to ensure that she would have everything we needed at the time of the event. She set up a very attractive food display on time and her food was delicious. She was extremely polite to my family and very professional in her dealings with family and facility staff. She made me a believer and I would not hesitate at all to use her services again and/or refer her to anyone! I hope this helps anyone who is deciding on a professional caterer for their event; use Michelle at Personal Southern Gourmet!

The food was OUTSTANDING! Everyone at our table raved about how delicious everything was. We agreed on a delivery time - she showed up as promised. I will definitely hire her again. Because the food was so good and the price was right I'm going to plan more eating events at my home. Thank you SO much for this referral. The Personal Southern Gourmet is a WINNER! ~Eydie Sloane

Michelle made the cake for my daughter's wedding!! It was not only gorgeous, but absolutely DELICIOUS!! We received so many compliments on it! Michelle was so friendly and helpful from the first time I reached out to her. He goal was to make the cake exactly like we wanted - - and she did! We had the marble cake with buttercream frosting. I highly recommend Michelle at Personal Southern Gourmet!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do have some standard prices set however as each customer is normally very customized it does vary slightly. The main thing you need to know is that I do the grocery shopping for you, then give you the receipt and you reimburse me from that, and then there's a fee for the service depending upon how many meals you get.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

If at all possible, I enjoyed meeting in person with clients for the first time and getting a list of their likes and dislikes or dietary restrictions and their preferences for how things are done. From there a menu would be sent out usually electronically each week before it's time to pick meals for the next week and choices can just be emailed back. So after the initial meeting it's a very simple and smooth process.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been both cooking and baking since I was nine years old. I have worked in many restaurants from the age of 18, fine dining mostly and bakeries. I also worked for a bakery product development company out of Atlanta for nine years and traveled the US to train people how to bake, how to decorate cakes etc. I have excellent references!
