FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A professional organizer can get a lot done in a small amount of time. I'm not seeing the space through your eyes. I'm not getting distracted by the pile of laundry, the kids, the dishes on the sink, or the phone ringing. :) Most bedroom, bathroom, closet, and pantry projects take me around 2 hours tops, but that depends on the state of the space when I get there! Garage, full kitchen, and larger master closet purges and reorganizing projects can take between 4-5 hours. I recommend starting with 4-5 hours max! We can tackle as many projects as you'd like in that time. Usually after 4-5 hours clients start to have decision fatigue and general tiredness set in, so I like to keep projects to 4-5 hours! If I'm working on my own I can work longer, but alongside clients I want to look out for them and not over do it!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to see the space that's giving you trouble and hear what is working for you and what isn't. I'll give you my ideas and we'll come up with a plan and then I get to it! We'll start by deciding what is being kept, what is being trashed, what is being donated, and what can be sold! Once we know what we're actually organizing (and have the rest out of the way) the organizing is pretty straight forward! I want what you use the most often in the most accessible spaces. Making sure the space is efficient for you and your daily life is the most important. That will save you time and money knowing where to find things and having them easily accessible. I can take any trash or donation items with me when I leave, so that is also checked off of your to do list. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy your newly organized space!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For as long as I can remember I've helping friends and family clean and refresh their spaces. As an adult I've owned two little blue houses. Our house in Nashville was 950 sq ft and our current house is just over 1200 sq ft. Living a full life with two kids and pets in a smaller space means you need to organize and purge constantly. Especially with my kids, organizing helps them help themselves. If they can see their things they can get them and play or get ready with more ease. Making sure things are in the right place at the right time matters. Routines are important for people and for our stuff. Making small adjustments in a space's layout can make a big difference in its flow. We grow, our kids grow, our pets grow....our homes and spaces need to be allowed to change and grow with us! You may not need more space, you may just need less stuff or a new layout!
