Lisa is so good at what she does that you will want to keep her all to your dog and yourself, but that would be ridiculously unfair to all the other dogs and pup-parents out there who can benefit from her help! We sought Lisa’s help in training our 7-month-old Plott Hound-mix rescue pup, Remi. Initially Lisa worked with us at our home in a very practical way, on real-life behavior issues and where Remi felt comfortable. We have, since then, also done group agility sessions with Lisa at her fantastic facility. Remi loves agility, and we have been amazed at how much we've accomplished - from an obedience standpoint - when we thought we were just doing agility. My husband was, at the very first, a skeptic. But it did not take long for him to realize what a tremendous difference Lisa would make - not just in fixing a few annoying behaviors Remi had picked up - but in improving our relationship and communication with Remi so dramatically and to such an extent that we are all – Remi and us – so much happier and content with each other. I have never met anyone who is so knowledgeable about dogs and their relationship with people and who is, at the same time, so incredibly patient, kind, helpful, positive, funny, accommodating, understanding, and humble. Lisa knows what she’s doing, but she also listens to you. She is hugely flexible and never insistent that there is only one way to accomplish something with your dog. She is not rigid in her approach because she understands that it isn’t any good if it doesn’t work for you. Lisa has helped us to accomplish everything we have wanted to accomplish by helping us to find ways that will work for us and for Remi. Lisa genuinely wants to help you have a better relationship and a happier life with your dog, and she has a seemingly bottomless tool kit of ways to accomplish that. Most of the suggestions Lisa has given us for how we might change or modify a behavior of Remi’s that we don’t like work remarkably well. But if we try something and it doesn’t work for us, she will - without hesitation - offer another suggestion. And it seems like she could easily keep coming up with new suggestions until we find one that works for us. Lisa works with you at the level you’re at and the pace you’re comfortable with, and she does it without any judgement or criticism. She never questions how much we have (or have not) worked on something she has taught us. She is always positive and encouraging, and has the ability to see small gains - which she regularly points out so that we can see that we are making progress. Lisa makes learning fun for both you and your dog. She brings something new to every session so that it’s always different and interesting. Remi is always excited to see Lisa because she knows we’ll be doing something fun and engaging. Lastly, working with Lisa is an incredibly good value. She did not require us to commit to a long and expensive training program. We like working with Lisa and we are seeing all of the results we were hoping for (and more), so we keep working with her. It’s that simple.

I was looking for a mental and physical outlet for our newly adopted rescue dog and Lisa was recommended as a local agility trainer by a friend. I wasn't very familiar with my dog's behavior yet, and was afraid that she would not listen well. Lisa immediately put me at ease with her calm demeanor. She is so patient and willing to try many different things to find the training/learning technique that works best for your individual pet. A big issue for my dog is focus, but Lisa has gone the extra mile and provided me with techniques to help aliviate this problem. I would recommend Lisa to anyone who wants to improve any aspect of their dog's behavior and to have some fun and get some exercise in a safe and controlled environment, you can't beat her agility classes.

From the first visit to now, my dog and I are already learning so much. Lisa works miracles. I never thought I would be able to take my dog on a nice long walk, and already three sessions into the training, he's not perfect, but he's exponentially better! This is one of the best investments I have made. She starts in the training wherever you would like and helps you and the dog learn the things that you want. There is not "set" schedule that she uses for every person! She just wants you to be happy with the service that she is providing, not to mention the fact that she is incredibly polite and nice. Since I'm a full-time college student with multiple internships, she works around my schedule, which is a god send. I haven't seen someone this great with animals in so long who knows just when to push a little further and how to push in the right way. Lisa is phenomenal and I can't wait to keep working with her so that I can learn more and so can my dog! We've got a long way to go before I have the dog that I would like to have obedience wise, but with her help, I'm more than confident I can get there. I cannot say enough to what she has been able to help my dog work on: from learning extended stay sit and down, working on barking, self-control, jumping, walking on a leash, and so much more. Basically, you name and she can help you achieve it. I would recommend her to anyone about anything. She's phenomenal at what she does!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Use a professional. Too often people that call themselves trainers use adversive and often inhumane ways to "train." Don't let your dog be manhandled. Contact a Trainer that use positive reinforcement.
