Introduction: For our wood fences, we attach the horizontal runners (2x4s) to the posts with deck screws. Additionally, all of our wood gates hinge on metal frames with the hinge post being a 6x6 for any fence the is 6+ feet tall.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is very simple. We have a per foot price, based upon a minimum footage with an additional amount for each gate. That price is proposed to the customer, but assumes that no jack-hammering will be necessary. The final payment would be the agreed upon amount, plus/minus any footage changes, and any jack-hammering charges.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It will be good to obtain multiple proposals. Any proposal should detail the full understanding of the agreement. Anything that is discussed to be part of the agreement should be in writing. Additionally, it would be very good to obtain reviews from external sources, such as the Angie's List, the Better Business Bureau, CitySearch, etc.
