- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly I am contacted to cleanup multi track sessions for mixing, fix pocketing and wrong notes, tune nasty vocals and mix demos. I am also called upon as a video editor to edit our local newscast for the NBC affiliate, and I am also a live truck operator and photographer as well as a musician.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Its good to shop around. Large studios are on the out when it comes to mixing and editing. Smaller home studios with qualified engineers are turning out most of the product you hear on the radio these days. Its good to track/record in a studio, but then take the project elsewhere to avoid the room fees.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
You get exactly what you pay for. Find an intern, or someone that wants to work cheap or for free, versus finding a professional with 2 college degrees and 10+ years experience.
