- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would encourage you to ask questions especially in this field of business! Yea sure, they might know a few things about a computer or how it works, but do they know how to troubleshoot your problem! Here are three questions that you should ask before choosing the tech for you! 1. What kind of experience do you have working with computers? -What you are looking for here is someone that has been in the field for at least 5+ years work history or references to back it up. If they don't have neither then your probably talking to someone that only does this as a hobby and is trying to make a quick buck or is a scammer looking to fool you with a quick fix that your going to have to come back to them a week later. 2. Do you have the education or certificates to fix these kind of PC problems? -This is where most PC techs have problems like me, we don't have the money to spend on the A+ and Net+ certificates cause they can range from 50-200 dollars depending on where you live. But ask this question anyways, if they DO have it, more than likely they will be a bit on the high side, but they will get the job done more effeciently and you can be more confident. Don't put out the guys who don't though, that is why question #1 is some valuable to ask, because the ones who don't have it usually charge less and you can still get someone who does the same quality job as the ones who do. 3. Do you have references or people that would refer you to me? -I get this question all the time and is a great question to ask! Not only do you have satisifed customers telling you that they would recommend their services to anyone, your also getting that peace of mind that this tech knows their stuff!! Always ask this question, it will save you the heart ache of getting someone not as trustworthy or unexperencied.
