Introduction: I am the only full-out Mentalist operating in the Chattanooga area. While others may do card-readings or tea leaves, and local magicians might slip in a trick or two that look like "mental magic", my work is exclusively in the realm of the MIND. From cold reading to predicting the future, I make a personal (some would say intimate) connection with you and your guests that will leave you shaking your head and gasping for breath. My specialty is drawing my guests into the experiments, with unpredictable (and often astonishing) results. You might even discover that you yourself have some pretty special sensibilities. Meeting all kinds of people! It always surprises me what people are thinking! Of course we all (every one of us!) has some private thoughts, and I'll never embarrass you or give away your deepest secrets, but in the context of a fun and exciting show, wouldn't we ALL like to know each other just a little bit better?

Valentines banquet, about 80 people. Donatelli was the most personable entertainer Ive ever met. He made us all feel like wed been best friends forever. Even before the show, he just walked in and you felt better. Very professional, but not stuffy. There were some problems with the sound system at first, but he took it stride, walked out into the middle of the room and amazed us. I dont know how he did it, but when he read my mind, I completely believed him. I thought it might be a trick of some kind, but I dont see how. He just knew. Very nice man. Highly recommended. A+!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Long story. I loved magic as a kid. Watched Mark Wilson's "Magic Land of Allakazam" every Saturday morning. I even learned to do a couple of magic tricks. What fascinated me most, though, was when things happened that weren't supposed to. I'd be trying to guess a card (one chance in 52) and get it right, even when there was no trick involved! One time I had a person on one side of the room select a card and asked somebody on the other side to just call out any card - and they matched! Then I started trying to make that happen more often...and it did! Of course, I studied Dr. J. B. Rhine's ESP experiments at Duke University. (I sometimes use a "Zener Deck", developed by Dr. Rhine's partner, Dr. Karl Zener. Those are the "ESP Cards" you may have seen.) The more I played around with these kinds of experiments, the more amazing things started happening. I wanted to show people just how fascinating this could be. And the rest, as they say, is history.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Just do it! As I stated earlier, most people have never seen a Mentalist performing live. It will be an experience they will be talking about for a LONG time, and they will remember YOUR event. I'm flexible, comfortable on a stage or riser if you have one, or just standing in a clearing and talking with your friends. They WILL be amazed!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It is, at the end of the day, just entertainment. I don't do "private readings" or give "psychic advice". The things I know, really and truly, could be found out by anyone who'd put in the time I have. Of course, there's some showmanship, because I want my guests to have a good time, but ultimately there are no secrets, only what some might call "superior knowledge".
