I hired Erika to photograph my outdoor ranch wedding and rehearsal dinner in October of 2014. It was hands down the best decision I made that year. Erika arrived quite early both days. She maintained a sunny disposition, was very attentive to details, and professional overall. For all the work involved in a larger wedding, her prices were more than reasonable. She was incredibly easy to communicate with, and I always felt as though she was more concerned with my vision for my photos than anything else.
As will happen, a lot of things did not go as planned during my big day. I was stressed out and worried about a lot of things, but I never once worried about whether or not the good times were being photographed. Every time anything important happened, I saw Erika taking photos as though she knew where to find the happy memories before they ever happened. She was like magic.
My favorite group of photos from the weekend were taken while I was putting on the dress and getting ready with my mom and sister. I became very emotional at that time because I had always imagined my grandmothers would be there with me for that moment. Unfortunately, both of them passed away years before my wedding. Tears began to flow as these thoughts crossed my mind.
Seamlessly between capturing these intense moments for my family, Erika swooped in to help calm me down. She taught me some breathing exercises to keep me from crying the makeup right off my face! Her kindness and raw skills working with people were so valuable to me. I remember wondering what I would have done if she hadn't been there. Surely my sister and mom and I would've been three blubbering messes!
I can't help but think that the strength she gave me then helped me through the rest of the evening. Each time I felt my eyes welling up, I remembered her reassuring words and I was able to gain confidence in the moment.
During the wedding and dinner the day before, she interacted so well with our friends and family. She seemed to be having as much fun as everyone else which made my guests feel more comfortable around the camera. I understand this is not easy to do.
I know Erika dealt with a lot of obstacles during our event, but the photographs do not show it. The sunset wedding I had dreamed of ended up taking place in the middle of the dark night and we lacked a good amount of any light. Instead of being pleasantly cool, the temperatures dropped to a frigid 40 degrees.
Still, this young lady found a way to take a massive amount of photos that I treasure and will enjoy the rest of my life. Even though it was dark, she found a way to light up our tent. Even though it was cold, she found the beauty in my family and my new family cuddling up together in quilts and blankets. For everything that went wrong that day, the moments I remember were captured by Erika's camera. I can look back on them any time to recall the truly special memories from those days.

Erika truly has a gift for photography. No other photographer has ever been able to get a decent picture of our pup Lulabell, but Erika's pics are amazing. Her talent behind the camera produces images that are so real to life, they do not just capture a dog or person, but a moment in time.

Erika makes those of us who loath getting photographed so easy. Her lovely spirit and conversation soon make you forget you are in front of a camera. She has captured (twice now) the most incredible photos of who I am making me look natural and REALLY good!!! SHe has an uncanny knack with light that illuminates all of her subjects!!! A BIG YES to this talented lady!
