FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Repair quotes are primarily a case by case basis. I have standardized pricing for the most common repairs, but larger projects or more customized solutions require a case by case price quote. I will not quote a unit replacement without a site visit as there are too many variables in materials needed and degree of difficulty. AirSmith does charge a fee for quoting replacements or larger projects (I know some companies don't) but if you decide to go ahead with the project the quoting fee gets applied to the total quoted.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start every client interaction (whether a new or long-time client) with a very informal but professional interview process that helps you the client explain your situation and concerns and allows me to gather information about how you would like me to proceed. I then spend time diagnosing the entire system and providing options based on my findings. I will never start a repair project or service without discussing your options and getting your approvall first. Once a repair is approved and started the price discussed will not change unless it is discussed before starting that there may be unseen issues that could be uncovered during the process of the initially approved service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
EPA required certification as a universal type technician(highest possible type), 16 week vocational school(thank you us army), daikin ductless ac installation/repair training, trane 21 seer training, honeywell zoning training, wireless controls trainings from honeywell and carrier, TotalTech graduate (tech 5 highest tech level), indoor air quality training from Dynamic Inc, dozens of manufacturers onsite product trainings. I have also studied duct design, thermodynamics, heat load calculating (for ducts, unit sizing, and home insultation), natural gas/propane technologies, gas piping and exhaust venting and related building codes. But the best training I have is experience, in 18yrs I have worked on thousands of systems and solved problems for thousands of clients. I have seen what works, what doesn't work, how to make things work better, and learned how to serve all different types of people.
