I enjoy any type of artistic endeavour; working with a business or with an individual to create a unique work of art. While I am new to Thumbtack, I have been freelancing with local school clubs, sports, charities, and businesses for the last 10 years. I was a high school art teacher and have created tee shirt designs, logos, painted murals on canvas and concrete walls, drawn everything from bottles to monsters, and taught over a thousand students :) I'm a great choice. I think outside of the box with a huge imagination; a good quality for an artist to have. From understated to elaborate, my results aren't run of the mill clip art pieces :) but I can do that if you want me to. Whether it is a mural, a painting, illustrations or a logo, I will work (and rework when necessary) to ensure customer satisfaction.

Terri is absolutely remarkable! I had an idea of what I wanted but had no idea how to describe it. I told her what I was looking for after being in business, on and off, for many years. I wanted 'Branding'. Something new and 'timeless', and also something that was "Austin". I have a niche business and I wanted that portrayed. She listened to me. She spent time researching, online, my town, where my business would be located, and where I ultimately wanted to end up as my business grew. She did not just throw out a design or 2. She went above and beyond. We spoke on the phone many times. It was obvious that she was enjoying working on my project. I absolutely love my finished logo. Terri sent every file that I might need and some that are, "just in case". I am SO glad that I chose her from all the responses that I had in my initial inquiry. I suggest you choose her too... you will be thrilled with the experience and finished product!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It would depend on the job. For example creating a logo would be a quicker job than creating a set of storyboards or painting a mural.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to start with any ideas the client has, find out about their business and take a day to sketch. Once I have the preliminary ideas, we would decide if it is the right direction and take notes about any revisions. Then start the final piece.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in fine art and I was also an art teacher for ten years. Throughout these years, I furthered my art education by attending many workshops and college courses to stay current in the changing art world.
