Introduction: My name is Carmen, and I was an English teacher in South Korea. I taught ages 5 through 10 for a year and a half, and in college, I had initiated and instructed Adobe software workshops for students who wanted to learn and expand the basic knowledge that was given in the classroom.
I love to tutor as well as the one-on-one teacher to student time. I did this regularly in college to help Spanish majors with their homework and to challenge them with their conversation skills.
I grew up in Chile, South America, until high school, which made me fluent in Spanish by the age of 4. I also attended a French immersion program in high school giving me the ability to speak, read and write at a college level.
I prefer speaking only the language that is being taught if it is a language-specific tutoring session. It is difficult at first, but as my preschoolers learned in Korea, they can't go to the bathroom until they could say, "May I go to the bathroom please?"
With software on the other hand, I will not be speaking in 0s and 1s, but with adequate words that are not too tech-savvy at first. Although in time, a vocabulary will be developed.
I hope to hear from you soon and start learning!
