While Rick offers a convenient service in picking you up at home or work, after four lessons (totalling $180), we still had not covered the basics such as parking. On my very first lesson, he told me to get on a roundabout in my apartment complex and then jerked the wheel after I entered because he wanted me to take a right. On my second lesson in downtown Nashville, he told me to go when a light turned green and an 80yr old man was crossing the road with a walker on Broadway. I told him that I was going to wait until the man crossed safely and was told the people behind me would get mad because I had the green light. He also jerked the wheel into a construstion zone with orange cones up on this same lesson and said 'they should have had someone directing traffic there'. After 4 lessons, I have decided to go elsewhere for instruction and he refused to give me proof of taking the course for an insurance discount. He says that as an adult driver, I dont receive the discount, but according to and a friend at an insurance company, he is mistaken. I wouldn't waste your money.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I'm taking the most valuable possession you have and going to provide them with the very best driving instruction and training to become a safe and responsible driver. Long standing and proud member adhering to the professional standards of DSAA (Driving School Association of the Americas) since 2002.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Effective driver education is a partnership between the driving instructor and parents. After they complete our course, they will come back to you to finish the state required hours of drive time prior to being eligible to take the RoadTest. As a parent, your driving habits and attitude will come under scrutiny. We can't be expected to do it all over the 6 hours of behind the wheel time. It then becomes a partnership for you to model the type of driving behaviors that will reinforce what our teen driver education and training course provided. So you Mom an Dad have a critical part to play as well in getting the job done!!

A. Certification is the best way to obtain qualified professionals. All Tennessee Certified Driving Instructors are annually certified through the Tennessee Department of Safety.
