ABOUT
ATTENTION: I HAVE RETIRED. I AM NOT TAKING ANY NEW STUDENTS. My website is available and has all of the basic exercises and information on it. If you have
any questions at all, I am happy to talk with you.
My online website program is very thorough and can help.
One of the biggest issues students tell me they are having problems
with, is one of CONFIDENCE in speaking English. Not knowing how
to make the correct sounds can make one unsure of oneself.
I teach pronunciation of English so that you can have CONFIDENCE
AND CAN BE EASILY UNDERSTOOD. I teach how to make the sounds
of English. and This is a complement for ESL learners and is essential
to speaking the language effectively. I began teaching English speech instruction in 1991 and have worked with students from over 60 countries and over 25 different languages. I always work to positively encourage my students while guiding them to improve on how they sound. Standard American Speech is taught in top acting schools in the US. I simplified what I learned and work to give the essentials that a person needs to learn to speak English clearly and correctly. I give real goals to the student while pushing them to reach new and higher goals.
I created a workbook that goes over all of the basics you need to know and apply to speak English better. I tailor the lessons to each students' needs while making sure all of the basic sounds are mastered.
This technique also strengthens the voice and all of the muscles used in speaking. Different languages use different muscles to speak their language and I teach exercises that train all of the facial muscles in order to easily speak all of the sounds of English. It results in GREATER CONFIDENCE IN SPEAKING ENGLISH. It is extremely helpful for anyone of any nationality and A MUST FOR ACTORS AND
PUBLIC SPEAKERS. Please check out my website for more information. I "unlock the door" to how to make American English sounds. I enjoy helping students to find ways to make a speech or script stronger and more expressive, be it using the sounds and rhythms of the language, changes in pitch or finding which words to push to create the effect one wants to create. Communication is an essential part of living. It is also an art form and communicating effectively can be the difference between success and failure. Feel free to ask questions, I'm here to help!

Judy was prompt in all responses, and was great in laying out her services and fees up front. I was arranging for a series of sessions for my parents who were visiting LA, and I was in Seattle, and she was very accommodating. I also appreciated that she didn't seem to be trying to sell more services, but was very practical in her approach to what to include/exclude in her offering. My parents enjoyed her classes, felt they learned a lot, and also liked her teaching style and demeanor. I would call this a very successful engagement.

July is really a professional in Accent Reduction. I wish I could have known her earlier! I've been taken classes from her for 4 weeks and I can see my progress! She has her own materials that includes muscles training as well as vowels and consonants pronunciations. Those are all very basic foundation that a serious learner should spend time on. Plus, she is very positive and always encourages you to be a better you. Highly recommend her!

Judy is an awesome teacher. She is flexible and very patient. I love to have lessons with her. She even works with me outside the lesson time if I have any questions. The lessons are fun, easy to follow and her techniques help me, as a non native English speaker, improve my accent at a noticeable level in a short period. Amazing! If you want to improve the way you speak, she is exactly the one you are looking for. I feels so lucky that I found her. Thank you Judy.

It’s been so lovely to work with Judy! She taught me to pronounce so many sounds in a correct way that I even didn’t think about before. She has a great material and she always brings something really interesting to work on during the lesson. I highly recommend Judy!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
PLEASE NOTE: I work on SKYPE, TELEPHONE AND ZOOM ONLY. I work with students all over the world using these platforms. Fees are $75 per hour with a sliding scale discount for multiple lessons paid in advance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I speak to the new student and find out their specific needs and goals. During this initial consultation, I listen to their speech and can evaluate strong and weak points. I then work with them on what their specific short and long range goals are and schedule according to their needs. I work to zero in on each individual's immediate needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained with one of the top acting and speech coaches in the US for 3 years. I also studied singing at American Conservatory of Music for 2 + years. In addition, I worked at a business communications company that taught executives public speaking techniques, helping with the seminars. Throughout the years I have been doing a lot of independent study on effective communication and have worked now with students from more than 50 different countries and 25 different languages.
