FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Remote computer help is $49 for up to one hour. You watch the whole time. If I can’t fix it, you don’t pay. That covers slow PCs, scam pop-ups, email, printers, Wi-Fi, and Windows errors. Bigger jobs are quoted before I start: virus cleanup $79, new-computer setup $79, Windows reinstall $99. In-home visits in Henderson and Madison County are $75 the first hour (1-hour minimum), then $60/hour, no travel fee. Farther out, travel is quoted first. Hardware drop-off diagnostic is $49, waived if you approve the repair; if you decline, $49 is all you pay. Parts are extra and approved before I order. After-hours (nights/weekends) is $89 remote or $150/hour on-site when I can take the call — I’m one person, not a 24/7 hotline. No hidden fees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You message or call and tell me what’s wrong in plain English. I call back, usually the same business day (Mon–Fri 8–6). If it’s a software problem, I text a one-time link. You click it, I see your screen, you watch, and we hang up when you’re done. Nothing stays installed. If it’s hardware (won’t turn on, cracked screen, dead drive), we schedule a drop-off in Lexington or an in-home visit. You get a written price before any repair. You pay after the work, only if it’s fixed (for remote and flat-rate software jobs). Optional monthly care exists; you never have to buy a plan to get help.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve done hands-on IT work for 10+ years — home PCs and Macs, small-business computers, networking, security, and custom websites. I’m self-taught and shop-trained, not a call-center script. I stay current on Windows, macOS, common scams, and small-business web systems because that’s the work I do every week. I’m the owner and the only tech, so the person you hire is the person on the machine.
