Introduction: I talked with many of my former middle school, high school, and college students who told me that they were successful partially to having been in my class where they learned what they needed in order to master their college/university classes. It seemed not only to be the subject matter that I taught them that helped, but also the study and test taking skills that I always reviewed with them. I reached my goal of leaving them with the joy of learning and the tools with which to accomplish their goals. I love to see the "ah-ha" moments in my students' eyes at the moment they realize that they can master a concept and succeed. Each student is an individual who can learn if presented with a variety of teaching methods and a positive environment in which to learn.

Ms. Catherine Hagmann is a very intuitive and intelligent tutor. Prior to meeting with her, my grade in chemistry was a D, and I had struggled to pull it up to a C-. After meeting with her, I increased my overall test grade and more importantly, my understanding of my chemistry course overall. I am happy to say that I ended with a B in the course within a few weeks due to the tremendous help. I am very impressed by Ms. Hagmann's tactics when facing a problem - knowledge that I will absolutely use in the future. Ms. Hagmann is more concerned with the level of understanding from a session rather than how long it takes. Her help is exceptional!

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price is $70 per hour and I will travel 20 miles one way without an additional $10.00 for the travel fee if I travel no more than 30 miles one way. The other option is for the student to meet me half way at a public place. I will discuss the cost with each individual student prior to our agreement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
By tutoring I find that I stay in contact with the latest textbooks and current concepts that are stressed.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to become a teacher because I enjoyed learning myself. I also find it rewarding to help others learn and found out that I was a successful as a tutor to my friends in my own college classes.
