FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common cases I handle are DUIs and general criminal defense (such as misdemeanor and felony drug possession/sale charges, robbery, theft and assaults. I spent the last decade working as a state prosecutor and chief litigator for the Comptroller and I enjoy putting my extensive litigation and trial experience to work for my clients.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The best advice I can give to anyone looking to hire an attorney is: Find someone you trust. You and your attorney will spend a good bit of time together over the course of your case, so you should trust your attorney and like the way they treat you. If you hire someone just because they are a "pitbull" (aggressive and mean), then be prepared to deal with that type of personality when you meet with him/her and also be prepared for them to have little time to really discuss your case and listen to your concerns. You want a tenacious attorney, not necessarily aggressive or mean. You also want one that will take the time to actually "listen" to you, instead of just "hearing" you.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish potential clients knew and understood that they don't have to be treated like "just another case," like they would at other law firms. We are in the business of helping people, so my law partner and I take the time to go over things with you until you are as comfortable with and prepared for the potential outcome as we are. We do this by staying in touch with you and returning your phone calls, sending weekly update emails and just touching base from time-to-time with a call or email to make sure everything is going well and that there aren't any questions or concerns that you have.
