Richie and the team at AVU Heating & Air absolutely came through when I needed them most.
The only small thing I’d mention is that they were running a little late, and a quick heads-up would’ve been appreciated. That said, they still showed up around 8:00 PM and, more importantly, stayed until almost 9:45 PM to finish the job instead of pushing me off until the next day. That meant a lot because I run a dog daycare and boarding business, and I had a house full of dogs that would’ve had to spend the night in the heat.
Richie was incredibly knowledgeable, hardworking, and just an all-around great guy. He took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my system, gave honest recommendations, and was completely transparent about pricing. There were no surprise charges or unnecessary upsells—just straightforward, honest service.
Considering it was one of the hottest days of the year, they had my AC blowing noticeably colder and stronger air within about an hour and a half. I genuinely can’t thank them enough for making me a priority and getting everything taken care of that same night.

I found myself searching for a company to get my AC back up and running after turning it on for the first time this season and realizing it wasn’t working.
I was fortunate to get a long life out of my unit, but it was clearly time for a replacement. After getting three estimates, I chose AVU Heating & Air—and it was absolutely the right decision. As a local, veteran-owned business, they stood out immediately for their fair pricing, rapid response time, and overall professionalism.
Josh came out the very next day, walked me through everything in detail, showed me exactly what was going on, and gave me the information I needed to make a confident decision. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner, AJ, who reinforced why this company operates at such a high level—he runs his business the right way.
Where AVU truly exceeded expectations, however, was with the installation team—Stephen and Leo.
They arrived promptly and worked all day tackling a very challenging install. My old unit was not easy to remove, and modifications had to be made to fit the new system into the existing space. They handled every obstacle with professionalism, precision, and a level of care you don’t see often.
Stephen and Leo went above and beyond—taking their time to do the job right, maintaining a clean workspace throughout the entire process, and making sure everything was done to perfection before they left. They were respectful, hardworking, and clearly take pride in their craft. Even my senior cat and new dog approved of them— and they were so kind to them all day.
The Supervisor Brandon was kind, respectful, and fixed my broken door handle while I was working and didn’t’ notice he didn’t.

We keep pricing upfront and honest. Veterans receive $1,000 off full system replacements. Military members, first responders and service plan members receive 5% off qualifying repairs. We’ll always explain your options before starting work so there are no surprises.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by learning what issue you’re having and gathering basic equipment details when available, such as system age, brand, and type. From there, we schedule a visit, inspect the system, explain what we find, and give clear repair or replacement options before any work begins.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
