HOW I CAN HELP YOU AND YOUR STUDENT • Professional Assessment of student’s academics & extracurricular activities • Myers Briggs Type Indicator to explore personality, learning styles, and interests of the student. This is a tool that assists bringing vital information into the college search process. • Creation of a personalized college list for student to research • Personalized college application timeline creation • Helping each student with every phase of the application process such as Resume Building, Interview Preparation, Recommendations, and Campus Visits • Guiding students as they "drive" the college search, selection, and application process, in doing so, they learn important life skills: taking responsibility, making important decisions, and how to present themselves in a positive, impressive manner to those around them. • Finding ways to make your student stand out and shine in their application • Set up of Common Application, Coalition Application, UC and CSU • Suggesting programs and/or strategies for special needs, extracurriculars, community service, and/or standardized testing. • Brainstorming, drafting, and editing of personal statements and supplemental essays • Researching College Programs, Majors, and Careers with your student • Guidance for scholarship search and summer programs • personalized attention and support for your student (and for you!) • Final Review of all college applications and supplements. • Assistance with Honors College choices • providing an objective opinion in educational decision-making.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I hold a free consultation with the student and parents, share my packages for college advising, discuss the college application process, and if we both want to move forward, we do so.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Science in Social Sciences, am a Certified College Counselor through UCLA, and am qualified as a MBTI Certified Practitioner. I am also a member of the IECA, Independent Educational Consultants Assoc.
