FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The health and fitness industry will forever and always evolve, quickly revolutionizing medicinal treatments with pharmaceutical substitutions such as CoQ10 for the heart, pprobiotics such as acidophulus for digestion, green tea extract (HCGH) to aid in weight loss, antioxidant support and free-radical support. I do research and keep track of new supplements as they hit stores, read reviews, and any provided studies performed on both the ingredients and their synergistic effect on the human body. The American Journal of Sports Medicine provides the most up to date studies and research on both new and old supplements, but I choose to base most of my fact finding specifically from this site because of its non-biased affiliation with none of the supplement companies.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Fitness, specifically sports such as soccer, track & field, football, and basketball, personified my youth and had a huge impact on molding me into the person that I am today. I enjoyed going to school much more than the average kid, even during my high school years. I made good grades, had lots of friends, but sports taught me several valuable lessons and morals. For example, teamwork and sportsmanship, although i had no clue at the time, taught me the importance of respect, tolerance, and constructive criticism. Playing on so many different teams gave me the chance to befriend kids of many different races and backgrounds. Outside o f sports, most of the students migrated to class in groups, divided either through popularity or race. I never felt uneasy because I had always been accustomed to playing together in one large groups and had a great time no matter the sport or even the score. I started taking an active role in my diet and nutrition around my high school years, felt a significant difference in my well-being and performance, with added benefits in my focus and concentration. I found myself a niche, heavily intrigued with all the knowledge and benefits that sports nutrition had to offer in conjunction with all the activities, I manipulated my diet away from all the empty calories and junk food. The end result exceeded my wildest expectations and I became everyone's new training partner ever since. My buddies, coaches, teachers, and kids I didn't even know by name offered me their lunch money, drive their cars, or do my homework in exchange for what they thought I was taking. All I did was research and buy natural supplements and protein, consume them during the most effective times, and eat 6 clean meals a day. I never had think twice since my lasy year of high school, whether or not I wanted major in finance, my father's suggestion, to follow in his footsteps. I couldn't enjoy my job more, which actually I would have stuck with even if I had the money to retire at age 20. I am eager to wake up each morning, go for a jog, check out new studies and medical journals before I hop in the shower. Meet up with either a client or students for boot camp, take a lunch break during which I am surfing the web on my phone hunting for new supplement deals and savings, train a few more clients before finishing off my day with an after scchool youth fitness program. Before I go home, I hit the gym, browse my phone some more during my cool-down, just because I literally can't help myself. I graduated in 2004 and my passion and eccentric attitude has done nothing but ignited more because of all the knowledge and progress since then.

I have held jobs in the health and fitness industry for the past 5 years. I worked as a personal trainer for Gold's Gym, Express Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Equinox, and LifeTime. I also worked as a boot camp instructor for a company by the name of BCOR (Boot Camp Of the Rockies). I currently run my own youth fitness program but also worked for Lewisville ISD, where I was in charge of an after school program for 4th and 5th graders. I own my own business now, VitaFit Solutions, which includes a youth fitness program, boot camp, personal training both on an individual and buddy system where my clients pair up to split the cost. Also, I have a nutrition and wellness studio specializing in diet, nutrition, metabolic testing, supplement recommendations which all my clients use because even without working out, my clients were astonished to see and feel results within 3 to 5 days. Before entering the health and fitness industry, I worked in sales ranging from T-Mobile as a sales rep, Synergy Promo Group, specializing in sports marketing, and different health and supplement stores during my years in high school.
