FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know them and their comfort level in the water. Learning what skills someone already has in order to build on those. I also like to take time to learn about the swimmers learning style: hands on, visual, play based, and how hard they need pushed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was WSI certifide, but moved away from that to focus more on the competition aspect of swimming.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I couldn't pass swim lessons to save my life, i just sunk. The swim coach told my mom to put me on the team.....I was 5!! Next thing I knew I was breaking pool records, but that eventually wasn't good enough for me. By the age of 10 I wanted to do for others what my swim coach did for me. I was too young to legally work, so I became a swim lessons aid. it was the most amazing experiance. When I was finally old enough I got my Water Safety Instructor Certification. My passion for teaching swimming took off from there. I felt unstoppable as I continued to learn different techniques, approaches, and strategies to help anyone and everyone learn how to swim even better.
