Teaching has been my lifelong passion. I love helping students build confidence and achieve musical goals they never thought possible. I was looking for a flute teacher for my son to start playing flute, and I think I was so lucky to find a perfect teacher for him. Jessica is warm hearted, professional and very responsive. She answered all of my many questions promptly and helpfully on flute selection, even before our first class. Her teaching is very delightful, relaxing, encouraging, but no lack of strictness at the same time. My son really enjoys her class and learns very fast. I am pretty sure he will not quit flute like he did with other instruments. I need to drive a long way to take son to Jessica’s class, but it is very well worthwhile to spend the time and effort.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $70/hour, but I am willing to work on a sliding scale for highly motivated students who may not be able to afford the full price.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will have a phone conversation to discuss the goals of the student and create a plan to make them happen. I will ask about the musical background of a student, recommend some work to start with and talk about my expectations for lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in flute performance. I studied at conservatories of music, including the Juilliard School in New York City. Teachers I have studied with include Bernard Goldberg of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Susan Palma-Nidel of Orpheus of NYC, masterclasses with William Bennett, Robert Dick and faculty of the Conservatorio di Musica “G. Verdi” in Milan, Italy.
