  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Compare costs. Get at least three bids from prospective contractors based on the same specifications, materials, labor and time needed to complete the project. Understand variations in price may be associated with higher quality of materials. Call for references. Ask all contractors to provide local references and find out if those customers were satisfied with the work performed. If possible, visit a completed project to inspect the quality of the workmanship. Check licensing. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation requires a license for plumbers, HVAC technicians and electricians, however, other contractors may require registration or licensing to do work in specific counties or cities. Beware of high upfront fees. Contractors may require a down payment before work begins, but it should not be a significant portion of the total cost. Instead, make payments that align with the progress of the work completed. Make sure you are satisfied with the work before making a final payment. Review your contract thoroughly. Make sure it includes all the materials needed to complete the job, an itemized list of all costs involved, any subcontracted labor and a warranty for all work performed. Verify insurance coverage. Find out if the company is insured against claims covering worker's compensation, property damage and personal liability in case of accidents. Verify coverage directly with the business' insurance company if possible.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

A&A Construction was Relocated in Bastrop, Texas in 2009.15 year resident of Texas and over 10 year experienced master carpenter. A&A Construction is a young company that strives to build stable, long lasting relationships with clients through honesty, hard work, fair pricing, and mutual respect for others. It is our goal for the homeowners, employees, and myself to walk away friends after each project is complete. We are based in Bastrop Texas, and will do work in all surrounding counties. A&A Construction is a family owned and operated business. Adrian Vargas as the Builder, we strive to stay up to date of new products, research, and techniques through current construction literature. Through magazines, books, websites, etc., we are able to provide accurate and helpful information regarding new or traditional products and methodologies. When working with clients who live off the premises, we constantly keep in touch throughout the duration of the job. With phone calls, emails, and photos. We want our clients to remain a part of the project even while miles away. A&A Construction is a small company with a big name. To me, a smaller company means more quality control in the work and a better relationship amongst the employees, homeowners, and myself. Generally, the employees are long time friends and/or persons with whom I have previously worked. This allows me to feel more confident in the abilities and trustworthiness of each person interacting within the homes where we work. And please feel free to contact us regarding our projects.
