FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I met an attorney when I was very young. I decided I wanted to be just like him; however, I changed my mind on the practice area while in school when I got my start in the industry first as an attorney with a 3rd year provisional license handling, business, real estate, tax, and P&A cases. My first post law school position was as a Landman with a major E&P company. I later went on to be an oil and gas associate writing title opinions. After that, I went back in house with another major E&P reviewing any onshore title interests they had and was essentially the yes or no to transferring mineral interests and issuing the "Yes" to pay owners whether business or regular individuals.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Simple Wills, Powers of Attorney, Affidavits of Heirship, Title Opinions, Stipulations of Interest, Deeds, Assignments, other curative documents, Contract Review, and Incorprations, divorces, child support, child custody.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I had a client that had a sole proprietorship. She owns her own business and had no idea what types of liabilities she could incur vs. all the protections available when incorporated. I filed her LLC for her and was very happy to see her much happier with less worry about owning and operating her own business.
