FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to keep the speaking to the minimal amount, i like to let the music tell a story for the night. I dont have lighting equipment just yet, so I'd have to bring some very basic simple lights. - if it's super important, i might have to charge extra for lighting.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most important is figuring out songs you definitely want to hear, then work our way out to vague genres you want to listen to, then maybe have a "do not play" list. I like to do this as early as possible so I can have time to organize your personalized folder, so that when the day of the event gets there, none of us are worried about if i'm going to play stupid music or not. Or we could just wing it, but I don't recommend winging it. throw me a bone- at least a rough ball park. I also need to get an estimate of the type of venue/space we'll be playing at. how big is it (L x W), is it inside or outside? if it's outside, how big of an area do you want the music to cover? this all matters because it helps me decide how big of a sound system to bring.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Musician sense I was in 6th grade (26 now), Music fanatic (collecting music, learning about it in a broad sense with genres and just finding a wide variety of music for as long as I can) Recording music for the last 10 years, so that means I have a deep understanding and intuition on what songs work well together and learned how to DJ quicker than normal. DJing for the last 2 years, but that 2 years have been extremely effective considering I already had all the other musical background I needed and just needed to learn how to put the pieces together.
