I usually work alone unless there is an issue where I might need assistance. I prefer to work by myself because I know I am using my skills to do a great job. I try to be available for all of my customers needs and I am here to make them happy and to ensure that I'm going to give them 100 percent. I am proud of what I do and take pride in every job, whether it is big or small.
I love the fact that i get to use the skills that i have learned for the past 14 years and make something wonderful for the customers to enjoy. I think of my work as an art and every new job as a canvas for success.

John Hernandez did an excellent job of refinishing this original 1936 wood floor. There were paint spills and a lot of varnish buildup which we found under carpet. He also filled in some holes and installed new thresholds. I would highly recommend him. Thanks John!

This guy knows floors. He has all of the tools required to do the job, unlike other flooring contractors who said "In order to do this, you are going to need to rent X piece of equipment." He is soft spoken, intelligent, and punctual. We are very satisfied with how our floors came out.

John Hernandez did a fantastic job installing a subfloor, then an unfinished hickory floor, sanded followed with multiple coats of Verathane wood finish. Absolutely beautiful. Excellent professional craftsman that is hard to find now days. He cares !. Punctual . I highly recommend him.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge by the square foot but on some occasions I can do a set price depending on the job. There is a number of factors that come into play when doing an installation and also with sanding and refinishing. Removal of carpet, leveling,disposal of materials,travel time, labor, etc.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing wood floors at the age of 19 and my father told me that it would be a good trade. I stuck with it and I enjoyed working with my hands to the point where wood floors had become a sort of hobby more than a job.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My customers vary from builders, personal home owners, to commercial building owners. I enjoy getting to know my customers one on one and helping them get the look they want. I'm here to make them happy and achieve my goal as a tradesman.
