FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Constantly. Because of the large amount of technical writing I do, it is imperative that I keep up with the changes to regulations. Case in point, the Food Safety Modernization Act was implemented a few years ago, and since then companies have had a hard time keeping up with what is happening, often struggling to comply with standards. That is where I come in. With constant research, classes taken from national labs, and good old-fashioned practice, I've been able to help these clients achieve their goals and keep from fines.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I think it chose me. Maybe because of a high school teacher I had. She was brilliant, forcing me to use my head and think. It was because of her that I ever began writing poetry, and everything just spring-boarded from there.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of the jobs I've done have been consultations. We sit down and discuss what it is the client is aiming to accomplish, and I help to create a path for them to follow. There's no science to it, but having a goal, regardless of how you get there, is only the first step. And there will be detours.
