Utterly terrible experience working with Ismael Mauricio / House of Beauty. He continually up-charged for everything. The initial estimate started at $7400 and the project ending up costing $8,850. It would have been even more if i didn’t refuse to pay a charge which he said we had discussed although we hadn’t. He told me I would need to buy 250 sf of tile for a small bathroom. I said that’s ridiculous then he said that I actually only need to buy 150 sf which even then I thought that was too much. We ended up only needing about 75/80 sf of tile. This guy can’t even measure a project correctly. Next, I bought a dark grey grout for the shower subway tile install and he and is crew used a white grout without even asking me! I also caught his crew sneaking into my garage without my permission. He said they were looking for paint even though I told him if there was any in the house it would not be there. They left paint all over the bathtub and I had to ask him to clean it up before he would get paid. Another big point is that half way into the install he suddenly asked for half of the job payment immediately beforehand. This was never discussed! Not professional! Buyers Beware!!
