- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Just before his first semester in the fall of 1989, Attorney Burnett served as the foreman of a civil jury of a case involving the tragic death of local youths. The circumstances of that trial helped Attorney Burnett decide that his future was in the courtroom, fighting for what he believed in. He soon enrolled in the Texas Tech School of Law. After graduating in May of 1993, he passed the Texas Bar Exam on his first attempt. His focus after passing the bar was representing personal injury clients. After successfully trying numerous personal injury and wrongful death cases, Attorney Burnett obtained his board certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law in 2003.
