FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure up front how you are going to be sending/receiving your files and that you are comfortable using it. Find out how their fee structure works (i.e., by word, page, audio length, flat fee or hours they work) as this can affect your cost. Also find out how long it takes them to transcribe an hour of audio. Also, take a few minutes to listen to the audio you are having transcribed to make sure there's not a high level of background noise and that the people speaking do so clearly. The better the audio quality, the faster it can be transcribed. Give a written list of the names of the people involved in the audio, if there are proper names being used, it helps to have those in writing as well. Also, if any technical or subject specific jargon is used, it helps to have a written list of that as well.
