We hired Felipe to help us remodel our bathroom. We wanted to remove the tub unit and install a standing shower. We hired Felipe based on his sheer honesty about the cost of the project as well as his ability to begin the project as soon as possible.
He charged us only for the labor of removing the tub unit (and hauling the pieces away), and the installation of the new shower, including the tiling. All of the expenses came out of our pocket, so we purchased the tile and door on our own time. Any of the other materials needed (concrete, siding, grout, etc) Felipe purchased and billed us for later. He showed us every single receipt for anything he bought at the time of reimbursement. It was all at retail prices (he bought everything from Home Depot). He also picked up the door from Home Depot for us, as it was unable to fit in our car, at no extra cost.
At the end of each day he told me exactly what he and his son (the only people working the job) did and exactly what his plans were for the next day. If there was going to be a delay of any kind, he let us know right away and made it known that it was not going to change the price that we agreed upon at the beginning of the project at all.
If you are having any bathroom work done in your home, I HIGHLY recommend this man. We are extremely satisfied with the completed project and the entire process. We will definitely be hiring Felipe in the future should we want to remodel our second bathroom.

A pro all the way. On budget, on time. This was the easiest professional I've ever had to work with. He shot straight and let me know exactly what needed to be done to correct a problem an different contractor made. Plumbing works better than it has in the past 12 years! Felipe is THE MAN! Honest and very affordable.

We are very pleased with the look of our bathroom. Felipe was easy to work with and did his best to make sure we got the design we wanted.
We received quotes from several contractor between $8,500 to $43,000. Felipe quote was not the lowest but in the range we thought was reasonable for our size bathroom.
Our project had several set backs which were no ones fault: The tub filler we selected had a design flaw, which required some redesign. The sink drains didn't work the way we hoped and had to order replacements. The tub showed up with a crack and we had to order a replacement. Felipe worked with us through each issue and did his best to guide us to a solution.
One of the great things about working with Filipe was the fact he knows some very good subcontractors. The company he recommended to do the show glass, did a great job at half the cost other companies quoted for the same work. Plus we got a lifetime warranty on the glass and workmanship.
With every project there's always the 90/10 rule. 90% of the work is straight forward and fairly easy to complete. The rest of the work is more tedious and requires time. There were a couple of areas I thought the work could have been better: The pony wall tile was not cut straight and left ragged grout edges (picture). The retexturing could have been better if not rushed (picture). The caulking around the tub, particularly behind the tub was very poorly done. For the price, I really don't have anything to complain about.
This was our first project hiring a contractor to do a project. We learned some important lessons. 1) Create a check list of work items. This will help make sure there are no disagreements on what is and isn't part of the contract. 2) Inspect the work regularly. It's only your fault if the works not done correctly. 3) Don't pay until the work is done to your satisfaction. 4) Get everything in writing including the warranty.
I can't say enough how happy we are with the new bathroom. I have other property in Austin and I will use Felipe for future projects.

I was very satisfied with the Onyx shower and vanity installation in two bathrooms. My rating and hiring of Felipe was based on pictures of installation of other showers that he had done. Secondly, that not many contractors are versed with the installation of this type of material. Lastly, the tile and paint work that was done was to my satisfaction. The only problem encountered was the delay in getting sheetrock workers for work that had to be done prior to starting the job.

FAQs
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I actually enjoy working with my hands and solving problems that may arise during a project we are working on.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Total bathroom remodels, kitchens, painting inside and out, tile wood laminate flooring, and wood decks. We pretty much do just about anything that has to do with making the customers home what they want it to be.
