We had a rot issue with most of the joints on the fascia of our house. A good portion of the damage was obstructed by gutters or in challenging locations a good distance off the ground. Lance and I walked around the house and had an open discussion about the project. We discussed materials, labor, and schedule. After some negotiations we settled on the scope of work and cost for the job. Within days the project was in full swing. Other than some unavoidable weather delays, the project moved along swiftly and meticulously. Watching their methods and progress, it was clear Lance and his team were committed to the project. They started reasonably early and continued all day - taking only short breaks - to a logical stopping point for the day. This pattern repeated until the job was satisfactorily completed. Lance was well organized. He kept the work area tidy throughout. He was respectful of our property. If I have the need for a carpenter in the future, UpBuild TX will certainly have a chance to bid the project.

Lance remodeled our staircase. From a carpet staircase with half-walls, we knocked down the half-walls and upgraded to a hardwood staircase with metal balusters. The job required the demo of the existing stairs and carpet, dry wall remodeling and painting, staining and finishing of the new hardwood treads, risers and handrails, installing the treads, risers, balusters, handrails and the new trims. It is a complex job and Lance finished it in the most professional way possible. The final product met or exceeded our expectations. He is a skilled and intelligent worker. If he is faced with a new challenge, he starts by researching it and comes up with a solid solution. I liked the fact that, unlike many contractors that I had to deal with, his working day always started early (like 8:30AM or so) and always kept us informed in advance about his next day schedule. His quote was very reasonable, easy to read and understand. He kept a clean workspace inside the house and did all the painting, staining and finishing outside, such that there was no smell in the house. I really appreciated this, because all other contractors that bid for this same job, could not provide a smell free environment and asked to do the staining and finishing inside the house. He is a very reasonable and trustworthy person, accommodating our gap in schedule (we had to leave town for almost four weeks) and our proposed payment schedule. I’m recommending him without any reservation. I’d hire him again for any other job I‘d have. Thank you, Lance!
