Introduction: If you’re in pain, whether chronic or acute - neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee, foot - and you’re at your wits end trying to figure out how to deal with it, you’ve come to the right place. I treat the body as a whole to assist in solving the root cause of the pain. Using a combination of deep tissue work, FST and provided homework after each session, we can move towards a better functioning body. I'm a sports recovery massage therapist and a Certified FST Level 3 Medical therapist (Fascial Stretch Therapy). I specialize in working with the average everyday person that is in pain as well as athletes from elite level, to your weekend warrior, marathoner, cyclist, crossfitter, triathlete, etc. I've worked with individuals as young as 10 and as old as 75. Your massage and FST session will be customized to target your specific needs and issues. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, want to improve athletic performance, or just have some tight muscles that need some attention, each treatment plan is as unique as the individuals I serve. All of my sessions are done over workout clothes. I currently operate out of one location-The Wholesome Body on the West Side

Massage Therapy

Excellent, knowledgeable. The place to go for injury recovery, therapeutic stretching and deep tissue fascia work.. gives instruction for ongoing recovery work. Helped tremendously!

John is the BEST! He is so much more than your get-in & get-out therapist. He genuinely cares about you and your well-being to get you feeling 110%. He wants you to leave each session having learned something new and he even holds you accountable by giving “homework” to keep on track of your own recovery so you’re getting the most of your time with him. There is no one else I’d rather work with than John! 5 Stars for sure!

Juan is one of the best therapists that I have worked with. He’s really knows his stuff and working along side of him has taught me many things about the human body. His knowledge and has helped me fix many issues with my clients and myself. He’s the best!

I had the pleasure of working with John during his time on Michigan. I originally started seeing John in hopes of finding a way to improve my lack of mobility (as a result of old injuries and abuse from athletics). In only a visit, there was a noticeable difference. The thing that sets John apart from experiences I’ve had with other therapists is that John genuinely cares. Throughout your appointment, he will help you to understand what is happening in you body physiologically and will provide recommendations for aftercare home treatment and preventive care. I hate to see him go, but i would highly recommend his services for those in the El Paso area.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After filling out the intake form, a typical first session begins with a conversation and background information. We discuss the main issue for the visit-what you're looking to get out of the session-followed up by an assessment and treatment.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I earned my license in Michigan in 2015 and immediately went to work at Tri-Covery (ww.tri-covery.com) where I was for 4 years. We were the official massage therapists for the Detroit Lions. I'm also a certified Fascial Stretch Therapist (FST) - Level 3 Medical. FST has taken my treatment abilities to the next level. Helping me to achieve excellent results with my clients.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I spent the last couple of decades in sales and marketing for some well-known television networks, A&E, The History Channel, The Food Network and HGTV before making a major career change. Physical fitness has always been a big part of my life. I am an avid crossfitter and trained for and ran in the Detroit marathon. It was my research into maintaining fitness as your body ages that sparked my interest in massage therapy as a new career direction.
