FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We price based on doing the job correctly, not on gimmicks or pressure sales. Many Thumbtack customers already have equipment — that’s completely fine. We’re happy to provide install-only services using customer-supplied systems, with clear, upfront labor pricing. If you’d like us to design the system, our quotes include: • Professional installation • Proper sizing for your home, water chemistry, and flow needs • High-grade, fully serviceable components (no proprietary lock-ins) • Clear labor and materials — no surprise fees We’re a state-licensed water treatment team, and collectively we’ve spent over 12,000 hours studying water systems. Whether we’re installing your equipment or designing a full solution, our focus is the same: safe, reliable water done right.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by understanding what you already have and what you’re trying to solve. Many customers come to us with equipment in hand, others want a system designed — we’re comfortable with both. Our process is: 1) Review your goals, usage, and any existing equipment 2) Test water (when needed) and check plumbing, flow, and space 3) Confirm sizing, demand (including high-flow or pool top-offs), and install requirements 4) Clearly explain options and pricing with no pressure 5) Install cleanly, test everything, and walk you through operation We’re Texas state-licensed water treatment specialists, and every job is approached with the same standard: safe, correct, and built to last.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We’re Texas state-licensed Water Treatment Specialists (TCEQ) with a background in construction and water systems. Beyond formal licensing, our team has collectively spent 12,000+ hours studying water chemistry, filtration media, flow dynamics, and system design — not just installing equipment, but understanding how and why it works. Most installs include 15–30 minutes of homeowner education. We explain the system, answer questions, and make sure you actually understand what you own. Too often systems are installed by subcontractors who can’t explain them — we believe that’s unacceptable. Education is part of the service, not an upsell.
