Wishes and Wags offers private dog obedience training, behavior modification training, and pet sitting. Our trainer holds two dog training certifications and has a Masters in Dog Aggression through Michael Shikashio. She is also a mentor/instructor for students working on their certification through the Animal Behavior College. Standard and customized training packages are available for basic obedience and problem solving. Complex behavior issues can be frustrating and in some cases, devastating to pet parents. We understand that! Wishes and Wags approaches the complex behavior issues with compassion, hope, and love.

Our experience with Dawn could not have been better! She contacted me right away and spent a great deal of time on the phone with me, troubleshooting what could have caused our dog’s sudden refusal to go up the stairs. She recommended that I have a vet check him out before starting training, which I would not have thought to do. Once I called her with the all clear from the vet, she arranged to come to our home that weekend! She spent at least an hour with us, just getting to know our dog. She worked with him quite a bit at that first visit too, and gave us super helpful advice on how to work with him independently. She was so kind and used only positive reinforcement when working with him. He loved her! Flash forward and just three weeks later, using the techniques she taught us, the problem was completely solved. He’s going up and down the stairs without any hesitation, and more importantly, he is able to join us whenever we’re all upstairs. I can’t thank Dawn enough. Highly recommend!!

Working with Dawn has been an absoulte pleasure! She has been to our house twice in 2 weeks and we can already see a significant difference in our dogs behaviour! She is so full of knowledge and has tought us many tecniques that we never would have known or thought of on our own! I highly recommend wishes and wags to anyone looking for a tranier that will give you personalized training for your dog!

Dawn has a great understanding of dogs. So sweet with my labs. Showed up on time, stayed late, and has been in touch with me since our initial training to check on my dog. She sends tips and is really invested in how well my dogs do.

I can not express how wonderful Wishes and Wags service is. I have used her twice and I'm already going to be booking her again for another trip. Being able to relax and enjoy my short little get a-ways knowing that my fur babies were being taken care of in priceless! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer a 10% discount on consultations to humans over 65 years young, first responders, and military (both active and inactive)!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For dog obedience training, we start the process with a brief phone discussion about your training needs (and your doggie of course). After the phone conversation, there is required paperwork to complete before we get started. As soon as the paperwork is complete, we schedule the initial consultation! In the consultation, we discuss your training goals and choose the package that is best suited for your needs.
For pet sitting, there is an initial meet and greet with pet parents. In the meet and greet, clients meet the sitter and have an opportunity to ask questions about the service.
