I am brand-new to the Austin area. I'm looking to make connections in the equine world and begin teaching lessons here in Texas. I moved from New Jersey, where I taught horseback riding at Fairview Lake YMCA Camp for 2 years, competed in dozens of hunter/jumper and cross-country competitions and been around horses since I could walk.
Sadly, I had to leave my horse behind in New Jersey due to his blindness. I didn't want to put him through the stress, and so I do require that my students have a horse to ride; however, I am completely willing to travel to you.
I teach all levels, from beginner to advanced. With beginners, I always start with horse care, proper horse safety, and of course, proper riding techniques. Throughout teaching, I also include parts of the horse, colors, markings, and other horse knowledge. For intermediate and advanced riders, I teach proper hunter/jumper etiquette for English riders as well as reigning, barrel racing, and other rodeo sports for Western riders.
Since I am still new to Austin, I don't know the competitions around here, and so I won't be able to bring you to competitions right off the bat myself, but I would definitely like to enter the competition world in the future.
